Cookies for Santa

We always leave a treat for Santa Claus by the Christmas tree so I thought why not make a cute sign that we can use for years to come. Very easy to make Christmas project that kids can help with or can make on their own (with adult supervision of course). Materials used: • 12x6 piece of wood that I had in my craft supply box but you could use chipboard, wood, even poster board. • Creative Imagines 12x12 gingerbread scrapbook paper • Dark brown, red, and white paint • small wooden men ($1.50 for a pack of 4 at Michael's) • red letter stickers • red felt • red ribbon • glitter • sealer and varnish for wood • hot glue gun and glue sticks • *staple gun (optional) Directions: •Apply sealer to wood and gingerbread men, let dry then paint brown. Cut the scrapbook paper 1/2 inch smaller than wood and adhere to board. • *Use staple gun to attach ribbon to board for hanging (optional) or board could be placed on easel or simply propped on something to display. •Decora

Thanksgiving Wall Decoration

This was a super easy and cute way to decorate for the Thanksgiving holiday.  Materials: •wood plaque •Americana acrylic paint in Burnt Orange and Antique Gold •sealer and gloss varnish •glitter in fall hues •leaves- I cut leaves from a 12x12 piece of scrapbook paper, but you could use a bag of fall leaves as well. •chipboard letters (the ones I had on hand were lime green but I painted them brown) •adhesive  Directions: sand wood if needed, apply coat of sealer, let dry. Paint chipboard letters if needed, set aside and let dry while you work on the plaque. Paint wood- I did two different colors so I wouldn't look flat. Cut leaves and apply glitter.  Adhere letters and if you painted your letters like I then apply varnish (gloss or matte) to entire surface. Let dry. Then adhere leaves and you got yourself an easy Thanksgiving decoration.  **with different colors and a different saying this project could easily be made for another holiday**

Twilight Saga: Eclipse party

Twilight Saga: Eclipse release party!  I'm a little late posting the pictures to this party due to events that happened shortly after but I'm back on track now.  I had so much fun getting this party together with my friend Anne Munholland! I saw the Twilight themed party by Hostess with the Mostess  and immediately had the urge to throw a themed party for Eclipse that was coming to theaters soon. I showed the website to Anne and she was on board right away. Edward Cullen Pictures cut out from the  Illustrated movie companion  and put into frames. Most of the supplies (picture frames, candles, clear plastic bowls, serving trays) came from The Dollar Tree - where EVERYTHING is $1!!! scented candle in larger glass bowl with red glass to coordinate with the red and black theme. 5x7 print outs from Hostess with the Mostess. We had an Italian pasta dish (just like Bella) and plenty of other themed  hors d'oeuvres to bite into (pun intended lol) red ribbon

Princess boxes

I love, love, love  paper mache!  Paint, decoupage, glitter....so many possibilities.  These were made for my adorable little cousin Ananiah.  Her birthday was a Disney Princess theme and I use the boxes as the centerpiece. (only one pic from the party - idk what happened to that memory card...) Materials : 2 paper mache round boxes (medium and large) Disney Princess scrapbook paper Disney Princess stickers Princess ribbon Paint (purple, pink and yellow)  "Princess" wood word (Michael's) diamond accent  initial letter (Michael's dollar bin) Additional views: Directions: prepare paper mache with sealer and let dry (not necessary but recommended) paint boxes inside and out (if covering with paper you can paint just the part that will be seen to save time and paint) adhere scrapbook paper to boxes and ribbons to rim of tops (permanent tape runner was used and worked very well , liquid adhesive will sometimes warp paper) use strong glue to adhere wood Pri
